Week 27: Intertestamental & Fulfilled Prophecies

Many battles were fought between 400BC and the birth of Christ. From Persia, to Greek, to Ptolemies & Seleucid to eventually the Romans. For one brief interlude, the Jews even tasted self-governance, which did not go well. The time was ripe for the Messiah to arise and deliver His people from foreign power...on their terms!

We have completed the Old Testament and are going to spend one week on the 400 years between the Old and the New Testaments. Week 25: Those who stayed in Persia

Queen Esther as portrayed in modern Hollywood films.  Esther a Jew became the wife to Persian (modern day Iran) king whose lead cabinet member planned to annihilate the Jews.

This week we will do a little more reading than one chapter a month, but the narrative of Esther is so brilliant, I’m sure you won’t mind.
