Week 27: Intertestamental & Fulfilled Prophecies

We have completed the Old Testament and are going to spend one week on the 400 years between the Old and the New Testaments.

Our readings will be selections from the Old Testament that are more fully complete in Jesus Christ in the New Testament, often called prophecies.

Other readings from this period can be found in the Apocrypha found in many Catholic and RSV bibles, especially Esdras and Maccabees.

Next week we will begin the Life of Christ chronologically. This week prepares us for His arrival!

Many battles were fought between 400BC and the birth of Christ. From Persia, to Greek, to Ptolemies & Seleucid to eventually the Romans. For one brief interlude, the Jews even tasted self-governance, which did not go well. The time was ripe for the Messiah to arise and deliver His people from foreign power...on their terms!
